Kin Fai Mak awarded a Packard Fellowship
Congratulations to Kin Fai Mak, holder of the Downsbrough Faculty Development Chair, on being selected as a Packard Fellow! The Packard Foundation established the prestigious Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering in 1988 "to allow the nation’s most promising professors to pursue science and engineering research early in their careers with few funding restrictions and limited reporting requirements." Each year, the Foundation invites the presidents of 50 universities around the nation to nominate two junior members of their science and engineering faculty. Out of the 100 nominations, only 18 are selected as Fellows, each receiving $875,000 in funding over 5 years.
