In this informal talk, we have a look at some fundamental
questions coming out of density functional theory.
The infamous "v-representability problem" --- the most
immediately and intuitively appealing such --- will be a focus.
This setting provides a concrete sandbox in which to
investigate what nonstandard (infinitesimal) analysis can
do for theoretical physics.
