Colloquium: Gravitational Waves: Promises, realities and puzzles
Main Content
Luis Lehner, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics
The year 2015, in many ways, marked the beginning of Gravitational
Wave Astronomy and within just a few years a number of spectacular observations
have been made. These observations not only have given us unprecedented clues
about our universe but are also raising new puzzles for the future.
This talk will describe (some of the) outcomes of the detected events and discuss
some challenges to be met for maximizing the scientific payoff of upcoming detections.
