IceCube's discovery of cosmic neutrinos offers a new view of our universe and already provides new insights into the extreme universe. I will describe our efforts to identify the sources of cosmic neutrinos considering both extragalactic and Galactic transient and steady sources. I will argue that IceCube is likely to resolve Galactic sources of cosmic neutrinos and discuss the entanglement of the prospects for identification with the uncertainties in high-energy gamma ray measurements.
