Graphene with large grain size and high electronic mobility was synthesized by ambient-pressure chemical vapor deposition on platinum. The grain boundaries and pyramid-like multilayer structures of graphene samples were imaged with dark-field transmission electron microscopy. The method based on electron diffraction was developed to characterize the layer-number and stacking-order of graphene up to at least seven layers. With this method, we discovered nano-crystalline graphene impurities distributing inhomogeneously under mono-layer graphene. We observed an coexistence of linear and quadratic magnetoresistance in such impurity-decorated samples,  Measuring samples with different inhomogeneity, we related the magnetoresistance with the inhomogeneity. The classical quadratic magnetoresistance can be well understood by self-consistent theory.
